National Warplane Museum | Geneseo, NY Press Release

For Immediate Release – December 7, 2021
The Canadian Snowbirds and the F-22 Raptor coming to the Geneseo Airshow

Geneseo, NY

National Warplane Museum officials announce that preparations are underway for the 41th Geneseo Airshow and will feature the nine jet Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds and the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Tactical Demonstration Team as the main attractions. In order to accommodate the Snowbirds schedule, the dates for the Geneseo Airshow will move to June 4th and 5th, 2022 from its normal date in July.

In a departure from the 2021 air show format, the Airshow will add an additional viewing area for individual ticket holders and, due to the overwhelming response received from 2021, will continue with the “tailgate” or “Drive-In” format with up to 6 people in a separate area where patrons will purchase a 20’ x 20’ private viewing area with ample room to park and watch the show next to their car in a tailgate fashion. This will be a drive-in, takeout event. You are encouraged to bring your own coolers, food, and beverages (sorry, no glass or alcohol). An area will be set aside for performing and static display aircraft, and food and novelty vendors will be returning along with other displays including military re-enactors and military vehicle displays that normally accompany the event. The show has secured a professional public address system and will be simulcast on FM radio. Our featured announcer will be Mr. Ric Peterson.

“The National Warplane Museum is honored to welcome the Canadian Snowbirds to the Geneseo Airshow 2022. The last time the Museum hosted a military jet team was in 1992 with the USAF Thunderbirds. Their presence with nine jets over the valley will be thrilling for all our patrons. We are also pleased to announce the return of the F-22 Raptor Demo Team back to Geneseo. Their performance in 2021 was inspiring to all our Airshow fans, as we to encourage young men and women to honor our past and explore career opportunities within the aviation field.”

Austin Wadsworth, President of the National Warplane Museum

In addition to the Snowbirds and the F-22 Raptor, Airshow guests will also enjoy performances by the P-51 Mustang, Quick Silver, Mad Max P-51, Rob Holland, Jason Flood, Skip Hyle T-6 aerobatics, flybys with WW I replica aircraft, and other exciting aerial and ground displays that are being added to the schedule. We anticipate that the flying portion of the show will last from 11:00 until 3:30 each day.

Discounted tickets will go on sale December 15th through January 3rd, with either the tailgate option or the purchase of individual tickets at www.nationalwarplanemuseum.com or www.GeneseoAirshow.com
