George Cline brings more than five decades of unparalleled experience in aviation and airshow operations. A former U.S. Air Force and FAA Air Traffic Controller with a 38-year federal career, George has coordinated some of the nation’s most complex aerial events—from the EAA’s massive Oshkosh AirVenture show to the 1996 Olympics and multiple U.S. Open and Masters golf tournaments.
As one of North America’s premier Air Bosses, George is a trusted expert in safely managing high-stakes, multi-aircraft performances. He serves as a lead instructor for the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) and has held key leadership roles within the organization, including Board Director and Foundation Board Director.
George has served as an FAA liaison to NORAD, taught Continental Airlines pilots, contributed to national safety councils, and even testified before the NTSB on behalf of the airshow industry. He continues to serve as a Warbird Air Boss at EAA Oshkosh and Sun ’n Fun and is widely recognized as a leading authority on FAA airshow policy and temporary control tower operations.
A private pilot and aviation ambassador, George’s career reflects a deep commitment to both safety and showmanship. His expertise, poise, and passion make him an invaluable part of any airshow team—and we’re proud to have him leading the flightline at the Geneseo Airshow.
Warbirds to Vintage planes to Corporate jets, it’s all speed and flying to Herk Strumpf.
For as long as he can remember Herk was part of Airshows. From attending airshows across the United States as a child with his father, to flying vintage planes for display at the show, Herk was there. Set up, tear down, organization, and safety are staples to the trade. You could say he was born into it.
Now, Herk enjoys relating the visual performances to the crowd with a musical presence and commentary that is both relevant yet understandable. He adds showmanship to the optic wonders no matter the aircraft.
Engagement, Energy and Excitement are the pillars of what Herk performs under the operation of AnnouncerSolution.com.
Herk’s experience is diverse. He has participated at some of the largest airshows and has voiced many Marine and Auto Motorsports.
When Herk is not at an airshow, he can be found flying his 1947 Stinson Voyager 108-2 with friends and working for FlightSafety International as a Regional Sales Manager in the Florida and Alabama territories.
He is a father to Mia, and husband to Lynndee, who gets tired of hearing about airplanes 24-7.

Museum of the Forgotten Warrior
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of Rob Holland – a towering figure in the world of aviation, the aerobatic community and a beloved member of our Geneseo Airshow family.
Rob was more than a world champion pilot; he was a gentleman and a gentle man, whose extraordinary skills spoke for him. His confidence soared not on the wings of ego but through the relentless pursuit of excellence, quiet determination, and thousands of hours of mastery in the sky. As one of the most skilled and sought-after performers in the industry, Rob never failed to find time to return to Geneseo – not out of obligation, but as a great friend. Year after year, he graced our skies with precision and passion, and year after year, we were reminded of just how rare and generous a spirit he truly was. Flying, and especially aerobatics, was Rob’s way of expressing life itself: bold, beautiful, and full of meaning.
Even though his heart was always in the sky, Rob was deeply grounded – genuine, humble, and always approachable. He was especially kind to children, often taking the time to talk with them, to listen, and to encourage their dreams of flight. His flying had soul and you could feel it in the crowd and see it in the sky every time he performed.
And though he was a world champion many times over, he never made a demand of others. He only ever demanded the best of himself. We had the honor of watching Rob grow. Not just as a pilot, but as a person of incredible humility and grace. Despite his global acclaim, Rob was always accessible, always willing to share his love of aviation with anyone who showed interest. He invited others into the cockpit of his world with open arms, never once placing himself above those around him. His legacy stretches far beyond the airshows and accolades; it lives on through the countless lives he touched with his performances, encouragement, and his authenticity. The soaring skies over Geneseo will be forever missing something now. A brilliance, a heartbeat, a friend. We will forever be grateful for the time he spent with us and will carry his memory into every flight that honors his. To our friend, blue skies, always..
