A Living Collection of Historical Significance
The National Warplane Museum is home to one of the most unique and historically significant collections of military aircraft, vehicles, and artifacts in the country. Our exhibits honor the service and sacrifice of those who served, while preserving the engineering and technological advancements that shaped aviation history.
Legendary Aircraft
Each aircraft in our collection represents a chapter in aviation history
The Crown Jewel: Whiskey 7
At the heart of our collection is the legendary C‑47A Whiskey 7 — the lead aircraft in the second wave of paratrooper drops over Normandy on D-Day. This fully operational D-Day veteran continues to honor history through flight demonstrations and educational programs.
Other Notable Aircraft
Alongside Whiskey 7, visitors encounter a diverse fleet including the Soviet-built Antonov An‑2R Colt and the rare Douglas B‑23 Dragon, one of only a handful of surviving examples of this pre-WWII bomber. These warbirds reflect the global scope of aviation history represented in our collection.

More Than Just Aircraft
Ground Vehicles
Our ground vehicle collection features fully restored examples of WWII-era military trucks, jeeps, and armor, including the iconic DUKW amphibious vehicle — often operational during special events.
Personal Artifacts
Inside the museum, thoughtfully curated exhibits display personal artifacts, photographs, uniforms, and stories that bring the human experience of military aviation to life.
Always Evolving
Our collections are always growing, with ongoing restorations and new acquisitions continually adding to the museum's educational mission and preserving more aviation history.
Experience These Aircraft in Person
Many of our collection aircraft are operational and available for rides, while all can be viewed up close during museum visits.
